Mamidikaya Thokku Pachadi

Ingredients

  • Large sized raw mango - 1 nos
  • Bedge Chillies - 10 to 12 nos
  • Methi Seeds - 1 table spoon
  • Gingelly Oil or Sesame Oil - 100 ml
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - 2 table spoon


Method

  • First grind or grate the mango
  • Add salt and turmeric and mix well with the paste
  • Keep it aside
  • Now in a heavy bottom vessel, add Ginelle oil a bit
  • Add methi seeds and fry to light brown. Keep it aside
  • Add Chillies, Asafotedia and fry a while
  • Grind Chillies, Asafotedia and Methi seeds
  • Now in the same vessel, add the rest of the oil and season with mustard seeds
  • Add Mango paste and cook for while (5 mins approximately)
  • Now add the chilly paste, salt and mix well
  • Once while keep reversing so that it does not get burnt on one side
  • Always keep the gas stove in slim
  • Wait until the oil splits out separately from the mixture
  • Turn off the stove and allow it to cool.
