Ingredients
Method
- Yellow pumpkin - 1/4 kg
- Tamarind - little (Use Microwave to soak and get the extract quick)
- Red Chillies - 3 (Based on your need)
- Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
- Thuar Daal - 1 tbsp.
- Gram Daal - 1 tbsp.
- Grated fresh coconut - 5 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Seasoning - oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, coriander leaves
Method
- Soak the Thur and Gram Daal before 30 mins
- Cut the vegetable into small squares. (Don't remove the skin). It gives nice flavor with the skin
- Season the mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds
- Add the vegetable, turmeric powder and tamarind water
- Allow it to boil for 10 to 15 mins
- While its boiling, use other thick bottom container
- Roast chillies, coriander seeds and coconut separately
- Make a smooth paste with the above ingredients along with soaked Thur Daal and Gram Daal
- Add the paste to boiling vegetable
- Add salt to taste
- Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves
